2018 Community Speedwatch was carried out in June and July. The number of sessions carried out were were down on previous years – some volunteers had to stand down due to illness whilst others were unable to help due to work, holiday and golf commitments. A total of 158 warning letters were sent out by the Safer Roads Team as a result of the sessions we did carry out. In addition, the Safer Roads Team visited our community 23 times in the previous year (to July 2018) and issued 316 letters of intended prosecution.
The 2019 sessions will be weeks commencing 21st September and 5th and 19th October. There are training sessions available for new volunteers and those wanting a refresher on Saturday 15th June, 27th July and 7th September. It is intended to put requests out for more volunteers shortly.
